I’m not big into regretting stuff. It’s a burden I generally choose not to bear. But sometimes I wish I would have developed and founded SplooshDaPool: da Business 10 years ago. That wasn’t AT ALL possible because of where I was at with my health and wellbeing 10 years ago, but I still think about it for whatever reason. The thing that I was able to do is start eventually, and attack it with vigor most days since. That’s the best I could have done. I wasted years, but I’m not wasting years.
You shouldn’t either. Our time here is finite. We only have the time we have to do the things we hope to do. So even if you didn’t start yesterday, or the day before, or the day before that: start today. Whatever it is you’ve been wanting to do, start today.
Here’s what helped me get started on SplooshDaPool: da Business:
- List all the things you need to do to accomplish the goal
- List all the barriers to reaching the goal
- Brainstorm ideas for overcoming those barriers
- Take the first step – whatever that first step is
For me the first step was scheduling time with my mentor, who helped dream up ideas for SplooshDaPool: da Business (Thank you, Andrea!).
Take that first step and attack your to do list with vigor. Look at it frequently and ask yourself if there is anything on the list that you could do now to get you closer to your goal, and do that thing. Keep working the list little-by-little and you’ll get there. Sooner if you start today!
Be well!
