My Story

Hi!  My name is Chris.

At 41 years old, after a lifetime of unhealthy decision making, I weighed 260 lbs+  (6’1”) and felt and looked terrible.  I was in constant pain.  

I started limiting my calorie intake in August of 2020 and over the next 8 months lost about 50 lbs.  But then my weight loss flatlined.  

For about 6 months I was stuck around 210 lbs.  My goal at the time was to get down to 200 lbs. 🙁

I knew I needed to exercise, but I always hated it.  Like, hated it, hated it.

On September 6th, 2021, I went to the pool at the local YMCA with my kids.  I always declined before, but this time I went.  That decision changed my life. 

As I was splashing around in the deep end with my kids, I realized that my chest and shoulders were getting a nice workout – and it was fun – I liked being there

I started going to the pool every other day for 30 minutes with no plan and 2 simple goals:

  • Keep moving
  • Don’t hold on to the wall or touch the bottom

Over the following weeks and months, I increased the frequency and duration of my visits to the pool as my fitness improved.  During this time in the deep end, I developed the movements that form SDP.

After 10 months, I had developed a concise, powerful workout that helped me lose another 45 lbs and get a crazy, crazy body.   I’m strong, slim, and fit.
